Claud Cagle - Leachville

Claud Cagle, 67, of Leachville, died Monday, May 7, 2001, at his home. Born at the Boynton Community near Leachville, he was the son of the late Claud Earl and Nancy Layton Cagle and was a lifelong Leachville area resident. He had farmed for many years and was also retired from Adams Land Company. In addition to his farming interests he had also been employed for many years by Florafax Printing and the Leachville and Buffalo Island Central school systems. He was a member of the Leachville Church of Christ.

He is survived by a son, Claud Cagle, Jr., of Leachville; two daughters, Peggy Cagle of Dallas, Texas, and Dana Poe of Leachville; four brothers, Cecil Cagle of Blytheville, George Cagle of Manila, Joe Cagle of Leachville, and Edmund Cagle of Russellville, Ala.; a sister, Leona Young of Fayetteville, Tenn., and five grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachvile with Edmund Cagle, Tim Basing, and Tom Bray officiating. Burial was in the Leachville Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Dean Adams, Eddie Adams, Eddie Wayne Adams, Larry Brooks, Marvin Brown, and Buddy Jones.

Honorary pallbearers were R.D. Jackson, Jesse Johnson, Jack Crooms, Donal Lane, Ricky Rogers, Snowden Hawkins, and Bill Adams.
