Clarence Leroy Lowery Sr. - Jonesboro

Clarence Leroy Lowery Sr., 59, of 6016 Arkansas 163 South, Jonesboro, died Monday, April 2, 2001, at his residence. Born in Trumann, he owned and operated Southside Nursery in Jonesboro and was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Faye Welch Lowery of the home; a daughter, Cristal Darnell Hanners of Monette; three sons, Clarence Leroy "Topper" Lowery Jr. of the home, Jeffery Lynn Lowery of Jonesboro and Bryan O'Neal Lowery of Nashville, Tenn.; his mother, Lois Lowery of Harrisburg; four sisters, Pearl Chambers, Dorothy Wilson and Loretta Nance, all of Harrisburg, and Gail Parnell of Virginia; four brothers, Doyal Lowery, Alvis Lowery and Wayne Lowery, all of Harrisburg, and Jerry Lowery of Trumann, and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Elmer "Nub" Lowery, a sister and a brother.

The funeral was held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann. Burial was in Holly Springs Cemetery at Harrisburg.

Active pallbearers were Pete Tharp, C.A. Jones, David Clines, Jeff Jones, Cletis Collins and Ken Crisp.

Honorary pallbearers were Chall Hill, Odell Everhart, Charles Kindarts and Charles S. Pendegart.
