Hazel Marie Gamble

Mrs. Hazel Marie Gamble, 79, of Manila, Ark., died Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Manila Nursing Center. Born Sept. 29, 1932, in Manila, she was the daughter of the late James and Blanch Vernor Whitehead and been a longtime area resident. Mrs. Gamble attended the Hornersville school system and attended the Manila Assembly of God. She enjoyed serving the Lord and gardening.

She is survived by two brothers, Windell Wilkey of Jonesboro, Ark., and Charles "Nick" Wilkey of Bradford; six sisters, Earline Hicks of Bowling Green, Ky., Mary Kis of Blytheville, Ark., Bertha McCormick of Manila, Glenda Johnson of Paragould, Ark., Barbara Warren and Linda Brewer, both of Jonesboro. Mrs. Gambles also leaves a host of other family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gamble was preceded in death by her husband, Delmar Gamble; son, Ray Gamble; four brothers, Junior Whitehead, Marvin Whitehead, Leonard Whitehead and Glen Wilkey; three sisters, Nellie Stone, Pauline Woods and Jerline McDowell.

Funeral services were 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, at Faith Funeral Service in Manila with Rev. Linda Brewer officiating. Burial followed in the Kellers Chapel Cemetery at 3:30 p.m. with Faith Funeral Service of Manila in charge of arrangements.

The family received visitors from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday.
