Ora Madlyn Evans Blake Cates

Ora Madlyn Cates of Ravenden passed from this life December 23 in the year of our Lord 2011. She was a member of Ravenden church of Christ. She was born Feb. 6, 1937, at Clover Bend, Ark., to Eutah and Eva (Voyles) Evans. She attended school at Hoxie in her early life, later moving to Milligan Ridge and attending school at Manila. She taught Sunday School at Milligan Ridge Church of Christ for many years. She was owner and operator of Madlyn's Beauty Shop in Manila. She loved life and people, she could change your day from bad to good with her "cheery" smile and attitude. She adored her husband Junior, according to her he made her life complete. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Larry Wayne Blake, two sisters, Jean Evans and Georgia Anita Rea.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Junior Cates of the home; two sons, Steven Wayne Blake ( Dotty) of Manila and Grayson Blake of Jonesboro; a daughter, La Cinda "Cindy" (Aubry) of Blytheville; two stepdaughters, Paula Cates of Lewisburg, N.C., and Vickie (Larry) Smith of Mountain View, Ark.; two brothers, Tracy Evans (Mary) of Walnut Ridge and Terry Evans of Rockaway Beach, Mo., four sisters, Wavie Watts of Walnut Ridge, Betty Clements (Bobby) and Billie Henry of Ravenden, and Thomy Tillman (Joe) of Imboden; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Monday, Dec. 26, at the Funeral Home with brother A.J. Stracener officiating. Burial was in Sutton cemetery.
