Mr. Jerry Wayne Johnston, 62, of Paragould, died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011, at Arkansas Methodist Hospital. Mr. Johnston was born April 18, 1949 in Paragould to the late General Jack and Lottie Velena Johnston. He loved reading the Bible (especially John 15), fishing, horses, and he established the Black Horse Reservation.

Survivors include three daughters, Sheila Michelle Johnston, Lisa Lynn Nelson and Jeri Heather Johnston, all of Paragould; four brothers, Nathan Johnston, Jack Johnston and David Johnston, all of Paragould, and Robert Johnston of Lafe, Ark.; two sisters, Alapha Flotard of New Jersey and Hazel Young of Rockford, Ill.; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and a host of other family and friends.

Mr. Johnston was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Leroy Johnston and Kenneth Johnston; and one sister, Aldean Rhein.
