Ms. Willene Cason Trammel, 93, of Monette, died Sunday, Aug. 28, 2011, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, Robert Trammel of Manila; one daughter, Macine Trammel Hughes of Jonesboro; grandsons, Jeff Trammel of Denton, Texas, and Robert Earl Walden of Jonesboro; granddaughter, Lori Ann Johnson and husband Chris of Germantown, Tenn.; great-grandchildren, Mason and Lilly Johnson of Germantown; sisters, Thelma Price of Monette, Hazel Wallace of Monette and Dorothy Cason of Cahokia, Ill.; and daughters-in-law, Donna Trammel of Monette and Billie Trammel of Baldwyn, Miss.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Mason Trammel; one son, Donald Trammel; parents, Lillie Mae Hunter and John William Cason; two brothers, Neal Cason and John Cason; and one sister, Ruby Veness.

A celebration of her life was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, at Monette First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jerry Reed officiating. Burial followed in Monette Cemetery.

The family received friends at the church from 9 a.m. until service time.

Those wishing to leave lasting memorials are asked to consider the Monette Volunteer Fire Department or the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.
