Leroy Boyd Whited, 79, of Monette died Friday, July 22, 2011, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Leroy was born to Nova and Calvin Whited of Ash Flat. He was a lifetime Farmer and Entrepreneur and also well known for his ability to fabricate everything from truck parts to farm implements. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant General Baptist Church and a retired member of the Monette CO-OP board of directors.

He survived by wife Letha Cornish Whited of 61 years, children Danny Whited and wife Debra of Jonesboro, Joanne Whited Branscum and husband Troy of Jonesboro, Elizabeth Whited Thompson and husband Rusty of Monette, daughter-in-law Deborah Wallace Whited of Monette, grandchildren Josh Whited, Meagan Whited, Allison Whited, Micah Thompson, Julie Thompson; sister Betty Sue Perkins and numerous other relatives survive him.

He was preceded in death by son Roy M. Whited and grandsons Zach Whited and Seth Whited.

Visitation was held at Mt. Pleasant General Baptist Church, Hwy 139, Monette from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday and funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Ernest Cornish officiating. Burial followed at Monette Cemetery with Faith Funeral Service of Manila, Ark., in charge of arrangements.

Josh Whited, Allie Whited, Julie Thompson, Meagan Whited, Micah Thompson, Rusty Thompson, nephews, and great nephews will serve as pallbearers.
