John William "Bill" Walker, 47, passed away Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010, at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born Dec. 31, 1962 in Dawson, Ga., to the late John and Daisy Walker. He was a graduate of Trumann High School and had attended Arkansas State University and was a past member of the Jonesboro Jaycees. He was a licensed funeral director with Gregg Funeral Home for the past 28 years. John was an avid hunter and also enjoyed fishing and camping with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Tara Mullen Walker; a daughter, Ashlyn Drew Walker; a son, John Cody Walker, all of the home; two sisters, Nancy Golden (Allen) and Robin Creekmore (Ray), both of Harrisburg; his father and mother-in-law, Lester and Barbara Mullen of Monette; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles and a host of friends.

A celebration of his life was held Saturday, Oct. 16, at 1:00 p.m. at the Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Jonesboro with Rev. Kenneth Doke and Rev. Jerry Reed officiating. Burial was in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation was 6-8 p.m. Friday at Gregg Funeral Home in Jonesboro.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Benny Walker, Prentice Walker, Lonnie Walker, David Bell, Rick Carmack and Bryan Ruffin and as honorary pallbearers, Kevin Mullen, Keith Mullen, Mark Rolland, Terry Lewis, Brian Clem, Rob Simer, Kris Wolf, Ray Creekmore, Allen Golden and past and present co-workers at Gregg Funeral Home.
