James "Dub" Cannon

James "Dub" Cannon, 85, of Pevely, Mo., died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010, at his residence. He was born May 7, 1925, at Monette. He had worked 55 years with St. Louis Boilermakers Local 27. He was a charter member of First Baptist Church of Horine. Mr. Cannon was also Past Master of Herculaneum Masonic Lodge 338; Scottish Rite Bodies of St. Louis; Moolah Shrine Temple; Past Patron of OES 325. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto J. Cannon and Margaret Bennett Cannon; a son, James "Larry" Cannon, and a sister, Floyce Moore.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Thelma Colleen Gibson Cannon of Pevely, Mo.; a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Adriar Denbow of Pevely, Mo.; two sons and daughters-in-law, David William and Janet Cannon of Pevely, Mo., Gary Lee and Colleen Cannon of Festus, Mo.; grandchildren Amber Cannon, James Cannon, Robert Cannon, Lesley (John) Lalumondier, Katie Cannon, Laurie Cannon, Christopher Denbow, Jason (Mandi) Denbow, and Meagan (Chris) Bahr; great-grandchildren, Sarah Tindel, Jason Tindel, Lucas Bahr, Garret Lalumondier, Robbie Cannon, Jr., Gracie Lalumondier, Destiny Cannon and Rylan Denbow.

Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, at Vinyard Hillcrest Funeral Home in Pevely, Mo., and from 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 1, at First Baptist Church of Horine, Pevely, Mo., with services at 10 a.m. Interment was in Sandy Cemetery in Hillsboro, Mo. Rev. Bill Curp of Festus, Mo., serves as minister.
