James Paul Hollis

James Paul Hollis, 85 of Leachville, died late Saturday at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born near Monette, he was the son of the late Henry Columbus and Sarah Gauf Hollis. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and was a farmer early in life near Arbyrd, Mo. Mr. Hollis had also lived in Paragould for many years and retired from the Ely Walker Company before returning to the Leachville area 10 years ago. He was a member of the Leachville Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five sisters, a brother, a grandson, and two great-granddaughters.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Wayva Ross Hollis of Leachville: two daughters and sons-in-law, Tamara Rose and her husband, Hugh Wayne of Leachville and Mary Higgs and husband Steve of Paragould.; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a very special niece Marie Mahoney of Independence, Mo.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Mr. Roger Chaffin and Rev. David Price officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Dunklin Memorial Gardens in Kennett, Mo.
