Ronald Gean Horner

Ronald Gean Horner, 71, of Manila, died Monday, Feb. 22, 2010, at his home. Born in the Lost Cane Community, near Manila, he was the son of the late Johnny and Ruby Reed Horner and was a lifelong resident of Manila. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and member of the Chancel Choir. Ronnie was very active in the Relay for Life events in Leachville and Manila. He was a former law enforcement officer, a long time employee of Howard Funeral Service and an ambulance service emergency medical technician. He was also a member of the Manila Housing Authority Board. He will be remembered as a loving son, father and grandfather.

He is survived by a son, Ron Horner and wife Brandi of Mendenhall, Miss.; a daughter, Rhonda Johnson of Leachville; four grandchildren, Meghan McDaniel, Chelsea Johnson, Gavin Fair and Kaidyn Horner.

The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Howard Funeral Chapel in Manila with Rev. Jerry Pentecost and Rev. Mike Winberry officiating. Burial was in Manila Cemetery. The family received visitors Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
