Barbara Nell Williams King

Barbara Nell Williams King, 71, of Manila, died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. Born in Manila to the late Earl and Minnie Stulz Williams, she was a lifelong area resident, member of Blackwater Baptist Church in Manila and retired supervisor for Osceola Shoes. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved gardening and yard work.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leon King; her son, Randy King; and her sister, Vermell Crouse.

Mrs. King leaves her son, Leon "J.R." King, Jr. of Manila; four brothers, Earl Williams and Johnny Williams, both of Manila, Odis Williams of Corning, and Lee Roy Williams of Morris, Mich.; three sisters, Mary Jo Collum of Davison, Mich., Glenda Moore of Hardy, and Minnie Lou Flannigan of Manila; three grandchildren, Sarah King, James Ryan King, and Cody King; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, at the Blackwater Baptist Church in Manila with a graveside service at 2:30 p.m. at the Manila Cemetery. Cobb Funeral Home of Blytheville was in charge of arrangements.
