Marlon Ray Davis, 69, of Leachville died Saturday, June 27, 2009, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born at Powe, Mo., he was the son of the late John C. and Rosa Mae Jackson Davis and had been a Leachville area resident for over 50 years. He was a well known brick mason and faithful member of the People of Praise United Pentecostal Church in Leachville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Davis, and a sister, Daisy Fletcher.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Bassett Davis of Leachville; a son, Rodger Davis of Leachville; three daughters, Rayann Gillespie of Cave Creek, Ariz., Rhonda Hurley and Rita Scroggins, both of Leachville; two brothers, Jim Davis of Hermet, Calif., and Chester "Bud" Davis of Brookland; five sisters, Esoline Norman of Lapeer, Mich., Classetta Wheeler of Leachville, Len Burdge of Tulsa, Okla., Duxie Statler of Leachville, and his twin sister, Carlon Davis of Leachville; five grandchildren, Bridgett Dogan, John Davis, B.J. Hurley, Jennifer Davis, and Nikki Gillespie; and three great-grandchildren, Drew Dogan, Ally Mann, and Dax Dogan.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the People of Praise United Pentecostal Church in Leachville with Rev. Donnie Johnson and Rev. Jerry Johnson officiating. Burial was in Leachville Cemetery under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Leachville.

The family will received from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
