Marvin Odell Robins, 68, of Leachville died Thursday, April 23, 2009, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. A lifelong Leachville resident, he was the son of the late Odell and Versal Pilgrim Robins and was a 1959 graduate of Leachville High School. He was retired from the former Brown Shoe Company in Leachville where he had many friends, and was also a retired farmer. He served in the National Guard for many years and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Jerry Lee Robins.

He is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Joyce Robins of Lake City; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Don Blocker of Mt. Ida, and Elizabeth and John Gathright of Monette; four nieces, Donna Felton, Diane Andrews, Connie Spears, and Tammy Colbert; four nephews, Matthew Robins, Mike Robins, Keith Blocker, and Wade Gathright; seven great-nieces and nine great-nephews.

Marvin also leaves his longtime companion, a chocolate Labrador retriever, Buddy.

Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 26, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. David Price, Rev. Lee Parnell, and Marvin Brown officiating. Burial followed in Leachville Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Matt Robins, Mike Robins, Keith Blocker, Jonothan Spears, Chris Blocker, Kyle Blocker, Kaleb Blocker, Wes Colbert, and Wade Gathright. Honorary pallbearers were his domino friends, Dr. John Johnson, Brian Rose, and the Leachville High School Class of 1959. The family received visitors Saturday evening from 6-8 at the funeral home.
