Lilly Florence Evans

Lilly Florence Evans, 82, of Manila, died Monday, March 2, 2009, at her home. Born at Iuka, Miss., she was the daughter of the late Arthur Lee and Anner Lou Carpenter Butler, and lived most of her life in Arkansas and Florida. She was a retired certified nurses aide and had returned to the Manila area in July 2008.

She is survived by her husband, Faye Lawrence Evans, of Sebring, Fla.; two sons, Arthur Reed of Ripley, Tenn., and Jimmy Reed of Manila; three daughters, Elizabeth Fuller of Hartford, Mich., Vera LaBumbard of Clarkston, Mich., and Katherine Highland of Caraway; 19 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Leachville Cemetery with Rev. James Roller officiating under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Leachville.
