Ell Castleman

Ell Castleman, 88, of Moore, Okla., died Jan. 31, 2009. Born to James Elmer and Inez Castleman Oct. 31, 1920 in Bay, he grew up as the eldest of six brothers on a farm in Arkansas. He married Ola Dee Ballard on March 25, 1938. He served as a corporal in the U.S. Army during World War II, stationed at Burtwood AFB in England. After honorable discharge from the Army, he enlisted in the Air Force Reserve. After living in Michigan for 22 years and working as a bearing factory job setter, he moved his family to Moore, Okla., in 1974.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Ola Dee Castleman of Moore; daughter, Karen Angell and husband Paul of Ann Arbor Mich.; son, Phil Castleman and wife Laura of Big Lake, Ak.; son, Bruce Castleman and wife Kathy of Norman, Okla.; brother, Gaylon Castleman of Highland, Calif.; grandchildren, Diedre, Elanna, Brian, Steven and David, Joni and Tera, Andrei and Christina, Jackie, Mary and Angela; great-grandchildren, Alexander, Andrew, Nora, Jamie, Max, Elayna, Peyton, Mathew, Miracle and Destiny.

Mr. Castleman was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Yvonne; sons-in-law, Dale and Roger; brothers, Laudell, Billy Jean, J.E., Carl; twin brother Clell; grandchild Eric.

Funeral services will be 1:30 Tuesday, Feb. 3, at John M Ireland Funeral Home, Moore, Okla. Funeral services will also be held at Howard Funeral Home in Manila at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, with burial to follow in Manila Cemetery.
