Thomas Harrel Carter, 64, of Cave City, formerly of Osceola, died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008, at White River Medical Center in Batesville. He was born July 10, 1944, at Leachville. He was a minister and had a woodworking business. He was a member of Peaceful Harbor Pentecostal Church of God in Batesville. He pastored for 20 years, was employed as maintenance supervisor 10 years at Crompton and was in the National Guard for 10 years.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Carter, of Cave City; daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Jack Wagner of Batesville, and Karen and Larry Lorren of Manila; four grandchildren, Kayley and Peyton Wagner of Batesville, Ashley and Mallory Lorren of Manila; two sisters, Reba Carter of Grand Blanc, Mich., and Bertha Guffey of Desoto, Mo.; two brothers, William Carter of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Carl Carter of West Memphis.

He was preceded in death by four sisters, Dorothy Wright, Lorene Petty, Linda Hopen, and Betty Warner, and a brother, Carl Wayne Carter.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola. Burial was in the Leachville Cemetery with Brother James Baker officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home of Osceola.
