Jessie C. "Short" Blansett

Jessie C. "Short" Blansett died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008. Mr. Short owned and operated Blansett's Radiator and Garage in Trumann for 50 plus years. He attended Rowes Chapel Baptist Church in Caraway. He served as past master twice for the Trumann Masonic Lodge where he was a member for 46 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Verna Blansett, mother and father, Joe and Cora Blansett, two brothers and four sisters.

He is survived by his daughter, Jean Jeffers; grandsons and wives, Gary and Cindy Jeffers of Caraway, Randy and Lisa Jeffers of Lake City; and great-grandson Kyle Jeffers of Mountain View; and two nieces.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Rev. Rick Stevens and Rev. Bobby Brooks officiating. Masonic rites were conducted at the committal service in Caraway.

Pallbearers were Walter Gatlin, Ronald Tyler, Gene Rogers, Mark Douglas, Jason Kelems and Jeff Martin.

Honorary pallbearers were Russell Cromwell, Bill Wagner, Jim Bullock and A.C. Finley.
