J.D. Fleeman

A funeral service for J.D. Fleeman of Gamaliel, was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel in Mountain Home.

Mr. Fleeman died Sunday, June 29, 2008, in Mountain Home at the age of 78. He was born Monday, Feb. 24, 1930, in Manila, the son of Marvin and Annie May Miller Fleeman. He married Helen Scarbrough on Aug. 31, 1955, at Hernando, Moss. He retired as a maintenance/mechanic for Viskase in Osceola. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

He lived in Gamaliel since 2006 moving from Manila. He is a member of First Baptist Church in Manila.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Fleeman of Gamaliel; a son, Ronnie Davis of Norfork; a daughter, Lisa Stutts and her husband, David; and two grandchildren, Sarah Bowden and her husband, Richard, and Gavin Stutts.

Burial was in Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery in Mountain Home.

The family requests anyone wishing to leave a lasting memorial consider the Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House. Arrangements are by Kirby & Family Funeral & Cremation Services.
