Jonesboro

James Herbert Lisk, 87, of Jonesboro died at Jonesboro Healthcare on Thursday, March 13, 2008. He was born Oct. 12, 1920 in Black Oak, to the late Floyd and Oma Lisk. Mr. Lisk was on the Redbirds Baseball Team from Caraway in the early 1940s, farmed for many years, enjoyed gardening, lived most of his life in Craighead County and was of the Pentecostal faith.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Lisk of the home; five sons, James Lisk of Lake City, Roy Lisk of Bay, Billy Lisk and Benny Lisk of Jonesboro, Rickey Lisk of Trumann; four daughters, Loretta Trinidad and Carolyn Marshall of Lake City, Jenny Moore of Jonesboro, Donna Rose of Trumann; 23 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Pauline; two daughters, Patsy Ann Jones and Betty Gene Lisk; a granddaughter, Cindy "Marshall" White; and a brother, R.F. Lisk.

Graveside service was held at Pine Log Cemetery in Brookland Friday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Brad Robinson officiating with Faith Funeral Services in charge of arrangements. Grandsons served as pallbearers.
