Jewell Marie Carr Jones Theobald, 71, of Heber Springs, formerly of Jonesboro, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2008, in Heber Springs after undergoing kidney dialysis and other health problems during the past year. She was born March 4, 1936 in Monette. She was the sixth child born to Oran Lee Carr and Betty Jane Howard Carr. She was raised in Caraway and later moved to Jonesboro and married Damon Jones.

She was a member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Damon Jones, and second husband, Sonny Theobald, her parents, and three brothers, Paul Barrett Carr, Billy Bruce Carr and Oran Lee Carr, Jr.

She is survived by a daughter and husband, Cindi and Bud Leenerts of Heber Springs; two granddaughters, Stephanie Marie, and husband Judson Warden of Heber Springs, and Brooke Nichole Certain of Conway; a great-grandson, Jacob Keegan Warden of Heber Springs; two stepsons and wives, Gene and Rose Anne Theobald of Houston and Charles and Carol Theobald of Memphis; a sister and brothers-in-law, Betty and Walter Stewart of Bakersfield, Calif.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Penny Carr of Blue Eye, Mo., and Elbert and Glenda Carr of Jonesboro.

The funeral was held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Langford-Bookout Funeral Chapel with Terry Joe Kee officiating. Burial was in Jonesboro Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers were Judson Warden, James Carr, Jerry Carr, Paul Carr, Gene Theobald and Paul Gary Brown.

Honorary pallbearers were Jacob Warden, R.E. "Bud" Leenerts, Bob Carr, Elbert Carr, Walter Stewart and nephews.
