Kennett

Perry Randall Metheny, 58, of Kennett, formerly of Leachville, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2007, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett. Born at the Pawheen Community near Leachville, he was the son of the late Glen and Della Hyde Metheny and had lived much of his life in Memphis, Tenn. He was a 1966 graduate of Leachville High School and a 1972 graduate of Arkansas State University where he was a member of the Sigma Pi Fraternity. He was retired from the U.S. Army having attained the rank of Lt. Colonel and was a member of the Church of Christ. He had been a resident of Kennett for the past year.

He is survived by two sons, Wayne Metheny and Nathan Metheny, both of Cordova, Tenn.; a daughter, Sarah Metheny of Kennett; a granddaughter, Makena Matheny; three brothers, Ben Metheny of Leachville, Denis Metheny of Washington, Mo., and Larry Metheny of Kennett; and three sisters, Sonja Hosman of Paragould, Jo Mason of Columbia, Mo., and Blanche Conrad of Cardwell.

A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Greene County Memorial Gardens in Paragould with Wes McAdams and David Lawrence officiating. Howard Funeral Service of Leachville was in charge of arrangements. To sign the online guest register log on to www.howardfuneralservice.com.
