Arthur Bruce Wilson, 78, formerly of Monette, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2007, at his residence. Bruce was born June 6, 1929, at Monette to the late William "Will" and Minnie Cornish Wilson. He retired from the Clay County, Fla., schools where he had taught drivers' education and was a member of Keystone Heights Church of Christ. He was a graduate of Arkansas State College, now ASU, and served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Barbara Darr Wilson, of the home; a son and his wife, Lanny and Janet Wilson of Orange Park, Fla.; three grandchildren, L.K. Wilson, Lisa Wilson Lucas and Jacob Wilson; one great-grandchild, Brooke Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, T.J. "Buck" Wilson and Bill "Everett" Wilson; five sisters, Eunice Bryant, Theyse Bryant, Sally Osborn, Yetta Long and Ailene Wilson.

A celebration of his life was held on Saturday at noon in Gregg Funeral Home chapel at Monette. Burial was in the Monette Memorial Cemetery.

Honored to serve as pallbearers were Loran Haney, Neil Abel, Melvin Smithee, Wendell Nettles, Claude Earl Barnett and Leonard Darr. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Larry Don Osborn, C.J. White, John Paul Masner, Steve Cobb, Carmi Simpkins and Paul Baker.
