Lake City

Jimmie Dean Pirtle, 62, of Lake City, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2007, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was born in Manila and lived in Lake City for 10 years moving there from Jonesboro. Hew was a retired carpenter, Vietnam Army veteran and of the Baptist belief.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Pirtle and Louise Peach Pirtle; four brothers; and three sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Pirtle, of the home; a son, John Pirtle of Lake City; two daughters, Tana Schoonover and Stephanie Hartl, both of Jonesboro; two brothers, Michael Pirtle of Fayetteville and Jessie Pirtle of Jonesboro; a sister, Betty Joe Lemley of Monticello; and three grandchildren, Justin and Jarrett Pirtle and Dylan Wilmoth.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Don Belt officiating. Burial was in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers were Paul Hughes, Leslie Wilkerson, Jason Peck, Dustin Campbell, Billy Pirtle and Randy Garner. Honorary pallbearers were Jim Wilmoth, Dillard Raitliff, Josh Campbell, Brody Swick and Dr. Sanders McKee.
