Monette

Elaine Taylor Fowler, 42, of Monette died Friday, Nov. 16, 2007 in Jonesboro.

Born in Jonesboro on June 3, 1965, she worked for the Cancer Research Department at Arkansas State University and was a member of the Christian Church in Weiner. She was a 1983 graduate of Lake City High School and also graduated in 1987 from Arkansas State University with a Bachelor's Degree in chemistry.

Survivors include a daughter, Savanah Fowler of Monette; grandmother, Edna Mae Freeman of Monette; a brother, Paul Taylor III of Monette; father and step-mother, Paul Jr. and Shirley Taylor of Lake City; two stepsisters, Anna Lee Hill of Cash and Melony Bonner of Irving, Texas; a niece, Halle Taylor; and nephew, Austin Taylor of Bentonville.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Olive Jo Taylor, her maternal grandfather, Charlie C. Freeman, and paternal grandparents, Myrtle Taylor and Paul Taylor, Sr.

A celebration of her life was held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Monette First Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Burgess and Rev. Rusty Bird officiating. Burial was at the Monette Cemetery under the direction of the Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.

Pallbearers were Jeff Austin, Brant Dowless, Steve Edgar, Greg Graddy, Brian Hatch and Todd Steele.

Honorary pallbearers were Harry Melvin Adams, Jr., Steve Adams, Devane Baldridge, Robert Flannigan, Sr., Bobby Grisham, Jim Grisham, Scott Matthews, Chub Qualls, Howard Reeves, Franklin Smithee, Norval Spurlock, James Stewart, Randy Wimberly, Arlon Woodruff and Jodie Brown.
