Sarah Bezella Baker, 89, of Monette Manor Nursing Home, died Thursday, June 14, 2007, at St. Bernards Medical Center. Born July 11, 1917, in Elvins, Mo., she was a retired factory worker. Mrs. Baker attended Calvary Full Gospel Church in Cardwell, Mo., and First Assembly of God in Steele, Mo.

Survivors include two brothers and three sisters-in-law, James and Ovetta Purcell of Waterford, Mich., Charlie and Bonnie Purcell of Leachville, and Marie McFarland of Shreveport, La.; four sisters, Rosa Shirley of Steele, Myrtle Richter of Gainesville, Ga., Mavis Lowe and Virgelene Jones, both of Flint, Mich.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Franklin McFarland and Willie Maude Barnes McFarland; her husband, Burl Everett Baker; a daughter, Burline Baker; a son, Everett Wayne Baker; two brothers, Eugene Purcell and W.A. "Alex" McFarland; and four sisters, Viola Rodgers, Onia Accord, Jewel Gates and Betty Lou Purcell.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Monday at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel in Paragould, with Leland Dement officiating. Burial was in the Brown's Chapel Cemetery.

Bob Osgood, Wayne Jentzen, Kenneth Lowe, Carl McFarland, Ronald Moad, and Joshua Nettles served as pallbearers.
