Shirley Lee Blocker, 61, of Manila, widow of Franklin Blocker, Jr., died Monday, May 28, 2007, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born in Newport, she was the daughter of the late Roy Elvin Laxton and had been a longtime Manila area resident. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pleasant Plains Church of Christ.

In addition to her father and her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Blocker Churchill; a brother, Elvin Laxton; two sisters, Odalene Hunt and Teresa Laxton.

She is survived by two sons, Roy Dale Blocker of Paragould and Robert Wayne Blocker of Manila; a daughter, Katrina Boles, of Bridgeman, Mich.; her mother, Fannie Hicks Robbins, of Crawfordville, Fla.; two brothers, Kenneth Dean Laxton and Jerry Laxton, both of Crawfordville, Fla.; three sisters, Charlene Martin and Frances Walker, both of Manila, and Pauline Bodiford of Crawfordville, Fla; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Howard Funeral Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Mark Wheeler officiating. Burial was in the Lulu Cemetery near Senath.
