Gerald Wayne Skaggs, 45, of Leachville died Friday, March 2, 2007, at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville. Born in Monette, he was a lifelong area resident and attended Leachville High School. He was a carpenter and member of New Providence Baptist Church.

He is survived by his parents, Grover and Imogene Long Skaggs of Leachville; a brother, Doyle Skaggs of Blytheville; three sisters, Linda Harper of Los Fresnos, Texas, Brenda Collins of Edgewater, Fla., and Patricia Burgess of Jonesboro.

Mr. Skaggs was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Dewayne Skaggs.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. today (Tuesday) in Howard Funeral Service Chapel at Leachville with Rev. Danny Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Manila Cemetery.
