Stella Bell Colbert Wilson, 96, of 301 N. Washington Street, Abingdon, Ill., died Saturday, Dec, 30, 2006 in Abingdon. She was born on June 21, 1910 in Hancock, Ark., to J.P. and Myrtle McKinley Colbert. She married James Everett Wilson on Feb. 22, 1930 in Jonesboro. He preceded her in death in July of 1990. She was a homemaker and had helped her husband farm in Hancock. She was a member of the Church of Christ and Abingdon Garden Club.

She is survived by a son, John Bob and his wife Alma Wilson of Abingdon, with whom she resided with the past 12 years; two grandchildren, Dr. John E. Wilson and wife Amy of Paragould and Daphene Gibson and husband Roger of Fort Worth, Texas; sevem great-grandchildren; a sister Clara "Jack" Hearron of Longview, Texas.

She was also preceded in death by her her parents, two brothers, Clyde Colbert and Charles "Buster" Colbert, and two sisters, Lou Ada Kendricks and Hazel Karnes.

A celebration of her life was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 6, at Caraway Church of Christ with Marvin Noble officiating. Burial was in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Charles Kendrick, Craig Nelson, Mark Colbert, Scott Colbert, Larry Colbert and Chad Colbert. Honorary pallbearers were Hershel Colbert, John Shadowens, Tommy Schoolfield and the men of Caraway Church of Christ.
