Caraway

Mary Sanders, 60, of Caraway, died Saturday, 30, 2006, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. She was born in Oneonta, N.Y., and had lived in Caraway since 1970, moving there from Goshen, N.Y. She was a homemaker and a member of Rivervale Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Grass.

Survivors include her husband, Malcom Sanders, of the home; three sons, Frank and David Bates, and Mike Sanders and his wife, Felisha, all of Caraway; a daughter, Suzanne Wallace, and her husband, Phillip, of Monette; her mother, Alice Lunt Grass, of Punta Gorda, Fla.; a brother, Bill Grass, and his wife, Mary, of Fairview Heights, Ill.; a sister, Carol Visco, of Punta Gorda, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Miranda Barnes, Adam Carpenter, Cy Whaley, Lilli Anne Bates, Ryan Wallace, MeKenzie Wallace, and Lana Sanders.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Rivervale Baptist church with Rev. Alan Payne officiating. Burial was at Caraway Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers were Dale Barrett, William Tyler, Lonnie Anderson, Steven Sanders, David Wells, and Roy Hollis.

Honorary pallbearers were Billy Roach, Sammy Lewis, Rudy Anderson, Garrett Taylor, John Ricks, and Wayne Roach.
