Caraway

George Melton Emery, 84, of Caraway, died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006, at his home. Born at Shamrock, Texas, he was the son of the late Marion and Ethel Nelson Emery and had been a resident of Caraway since 1960. He was of the Christian faith, a Navy veteran of World War II, and the founder of Emery Trailer Company of Caraway.

Mr. Emery was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Lillian Arlene Emery, on Oct. 2, 2006, his son, Michael Dee Emery, three sisters and two brothers.

He is survived by three suns, Melton Emery, Terry Emery and Barry Emery, all of Caraway; three sisters, Birdie, Bertha and Patsy; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. today (Tuesday) at Caraway Cemetery with Billy Gibson officiating. Howard Funeral Service of Leachville is in charge of arrangements.
