Cabool, Mo.

Charley James McKemie, 84, of Cabool, Mo., formerly of Manila, died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2006, in Amarillo, Texas. Born at Manila he was the son of the late Thomas and Anner White McKemie, and was raised in the Sixteen Community near Manila. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and had lived in Cabool for the past 30 years. He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy.

He is survived by a son, Chester McKemie, of Queen Creek, Ariz.; three daughters, Patricia Herring of Shelby County, Tenn., Marie Gullett of Carson City, Nev., and Sharon Yopp of Abbeville, Miss.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one adopted grandson.

The funeral was held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Mark Wheeler officiating. Burial was in the Manila Cemetery. To sign the online guest registry log on to www.howardfuneralservice.com.
