W.C. Hughes, 84, of Dell died Aug. 25, 2006, in Blytheville. He was born in Chalybeate, Miss., to Willard C. and Maude McIntyre Hughes.

Survivors include children, Jerry Hughes of Magness, Terry and Schery Hughes of St. Joseph, Mo., Sharon and Will Oliver of Brandon, Fla., Phyllis and Tim Myers of Blytheville; children's mother, Mildred Jones Hughes of Dell; brother, Willford Hughes of Chalybeate; sister, Loraine Hughes of Memphis; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held at 3 p.m. Sunday in Elmwood Cemetery.
