Denise P. Bowman - Marmaduke

Denise P. Bowman, 49, of Marmaduke died at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould on Sunday, May 28, 2006. She was born June 19, 1956, in Memphis, Tenn., to Nolan Bowman and Nettie Faye Bowman. She was a longtime area resident and a member of the First Baptist Church in Marmaduke. Miss Bowman worked as a sporting goods department manager for Wal-Mart in Paragould. She was also an active fund-raising volunteer for Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock.

Survivors include her parents of Marmaduke; five aunts, Pansy Markin Keith of Hemet, Calif., Flora Jean Markin Chandler of Louisville, Ky.; Geraldine Markin of Monette, Mazine Markin of Memphis, Shelby Markin Haney of Jonesboro; an uncle, Burl Poe of Marmaduke.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Opal and Node Bowman and Rev. John and Gracie Markin.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Marmaduke with Rev. Tim Bridges officiating. Private burial was held with Faith Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.

The family requests anyone wishing to leave a lasting memorial consider the First Baptist Church of Marmaduke Youth Department or the Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock.

Active pallbearers were Mike Roberts, Terry Roberts, Jimmie Crooms, Gray Neal Priest, Shawn Gibson, Rick Poe, Larry Markin, and Ronnie Bowman.

Honorary pallbearers were Doyle Rippy, Ben Whittaker, Don Hardin, and members of the Marmaduke Saddle Club.
