James Cecil Brickell - Jonesboro

James Cecil Brickell, 78, of Jonesboro, died Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at his residence. Born in Caraway, he lived the past two and a half years in Jonesboro. He was a farmer and cotton ginner. He was also a business partner with Cecil Andrews in Central Oil Company. He was a member of the American Legion; a 50 year Mason of Caraway Lodge 733; and a charter member of Caraway Volunteer Fire Department, Caraway Housing Authority, and Caraway Water Works. He was also a past member of Caraway Lions Club and was a Christian.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys Jane Brickell, of the home; son, Tim W. Brickell of Jonesboro; daughters, Teresa McFarlin of Hot Springs and Melissa Brickell of Ash Flat; brothers, Charles Brickell of Caraway and T.L. Brickell of Seattle, Wash.; sister, Gladys Schisler of Sherwood; and grandchildren, Sarah Jean Eaton and husband, James, and Timothy James (T.J.) Brickell, all of Jonesboro, Crystal Dawn McFarlin of Hot Springs, Katherine Ann Vasilescu and husband, Avi, of Little Rock, Dustin Lee Brickell of Ash Flat and James Jarrett McFarlin of Hot Springs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore Leghorn Brickell and Teanie Halsey Brickell; and siblings, Leavie Brickell, Winnie Ballard, Earnest Brickell, Annie Burrough, Marvin Brickell, Hazel Merryman, Eithel Booth and Vera Maloney.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Friday, at Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Monette with Floyd Killough officiating. Burial was in Caraway Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ronald Faulkner, Harvey Edward Faulkner, Hunter Miller, Kenny Weathers, Dustin Brickell, T.J. Brickell, Jarrett McFarlin, and Gary Smith.

Honorary pallbearers were Bob McFarlin, Floyd Killough, Larry Don Brickell, Dr. Ben Cranfill, Ed Ball, Donita Hofman, Martha Cruz, St. Bernards Hospice, members of Caraway Masonic Lodge and nieces and nephews.
