Alma Hartwig Perry - Lake City

Alma G. Hartwig Perry, 81, of Lake City died Tuesday, April 11, 2006, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born at Lake City, Mrs. Perry lived in Michigan, Las Vegas, Nev., and Florida before moving back to Lake City five years ago. She was a retired school teacher and was a member of Highland Drive Baptist Church.

She was a graduate of Arkansas State College and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Delta Gamma Delta.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Perry; a brother, Charles Hartwig; a sister, Edith Atkerson; and her parents, Dr. Carl D. and Bess Hauger Hartwig.

Survivors include sister-in-law, Vestal Hartwig of Memphis; two nephews, Chuck Atkerson and Robert Atkerson, both of Jonesboro; a niece, Debbie Rigsbee of Bay; five great-nephews; two great-nieces; seven great-great-nieces; and two great-great-nephews.

The funeral was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Emerson Memorial Chapel at Jonesboro. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery.
