Ralph Rolin Bennett - Manila

Ralph Rolin Bennett, 83, of Manila died Thursday, April 13, 2006, at his residence. Born in Caraway, he was the son of the late Austin and Martha Ruth Bennett, and had been a Manila resident since 1978. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II having served in the Pacific Theater. He was retired from the Randall Corporation and a member of Community Methodist Church of Manila.

Survivors include his wife, Christine Whited Bennett, of the home; a son, Bruce Bennett, of Knoxville, Tenn.; a daughter, Brenda Gomez, of Manila; a brother, R.J. Bennett, of Manila; two sisters, Mildred Ramsey of Manila and Barbara Chojnacki of Jonesboro; four grandchildren, Todd Ellis, Christopher Lutes, Peter Gomez and Ed Gomez; and six great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Manila Cemetery with Rev. Stephen Waggoner officiating. Services were under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila.
