Tammy Sue Shasteen - Caraway

Tammy Sue Shasteen, 36, of Caraway, died Thursday morning, Feb. 16, 2006, at NEA Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born Oct. 15, 1969, she was a lifetime resident of Caraway. She was a 1988 graduate of Riverside High school and received a plaque for being the Riverside Rebels Number One Fan. She was very active in church, worked as a candy striper for Methodist Hospital for two years and loved Riverside Rebels basketball. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Caraway.

Survivors include her parents, Jerry and Linda Shasteen of the home; a brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Wanda Shasteen, of Caraway; two nieces, Heather Shasteen and Whitney Shasteen, of Caraway; and a great-niece, Kalli Mary-Elizabeth Shasteen, of Caraway.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bill and Betty Waters and Ben and Lula Shasteen.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Saturday at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Albert Camp officiating. Burial was in the Caraway Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.

Pallbearers were Fred Couch, Dewayne Couch, Buster Campbell, Roger Williams, Troy Case and John Calvert. Honorary pallbearers were members of New Hope Baptist Church and past and present players of the Riverside Rebels boys and girls athletic programs.

The family requests anyone wishing to leave a lasting memorial consider the New Hope Baptist Church in Caraway.
