Harlis Elgine "Windy" Cole - Leachville

Harlis Elgine "Windy" Cole, 67, of Leachville, died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2005, at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville. Born at Cushman, he was the son of the late Jim and Elsie Holloway Cole and had been a Leachville resident since 1948. He was a retired farmer and member of the Leachville Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Lonnie Cole and had been a Leachville resident since 1948. He was a retired farmer and member of the Leachville Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Green Cole, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Lisa Cole, of Black Oak; a daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Clarence Buckler, of Black Oak; a brother, Adam Cole of Collierville, Tenn.; a sister, Laverne Cole Thomas of Leachville; and seven grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Lonnie Cole, Sr.; two brothers, Faburn "Tuffy" Cole and Verlon Dean Cole.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Howard Funeral Chapel in Leachville with David Lawrence officiating. Burial was in the Leachville Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Lee McMinn, Boyce Fletcher, Ronnie Bridges, Bobby Martin, Jim Roland and Cole Hawkins.

Honorary pallbearers were Snowden Hawkins and Lloyd Apple.
