Hattie Leenora Mills, 84, of St. Joseph, Mich., formerly of Manila, died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2005, at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph, Mich. Born at Sardis, Miss., she was the daughter of the late John Mangrum and Mattie Wright Branch, had been a Manila resident for most of her life. She had lived in Michigan for the past 10 years. She was the widow of Nolan Mills, a homemaker, and a Baptist.

Survivors include eight sons, Jim Mills of Morehouse, Mo., Wayne Mills of Humble, Texas, Gary Mills of Houston, Texas, Ted Mills of Coloma, Mich., Glen Mills of Orange, Texas, Johnny Mills of riverside, Mich., Terry Mills of Liberty, Texas, and Jan Mills of St. Joseph, Mich.; four daughters, Murrel Reigle of Crossville, Tenn., Lois Mills of Chandler, Ariz., Essie Rochefort of Three Oaks, Mich., and Debbie Hover of Stevensville, Mich.; 48 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Louise Mills, a son, Doug Mills, a granddaughter and a grandson.

The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Howard Funeral service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Floyd bell and Rev. James Mills officiating. Burial was in Manila cemetery under the direction of Howard Funeral Service.

Grandsons served as pallbearers.
