Hayden Dewitt Jr. - Black Oak

Hayden Dewitt Jr., 61, of Black Oak, died Monday, Sept. 12, 2005, at his residence. He was retired from Colson Caster in Monette, member of Black Oak Church of Christ, and lifelong member and deacon of the church. He lived in Black Oak a lifetime.

He is survived by his wife, Lanna Dewitt of Monette; his stepmother, Ella J. Dewitt of Black Oak; two sons, Allen Dewitt of Monette and Aaron Dewitt of Black Oak; a grandson, Logan; a granddaughter, Laci Dewitt of Monette; a brother Jessie Dewitt of Black Oak; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Hayden Dewitt, Sr. and Virgiline Dewitt.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Monette with Eddie Dunigan officiating. Burial was in the Monette Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.

Active pallbearers were Chris McFarlin, Roy Carmichael, David Edwards, Bishop Whitley, DeWayne Whitley and Jerry "Chub" Qualls.

Honorary pallbearers were members of Black Oak Church of Christ Sunday School Class.

The family requests anyone wishing to leave a lasting memorial consider the St. Bernards Hospice of Jonesboro.
