Madeline Stewart - Manila

Madeline Stewart, 78, of Manila, died Monday, Sept. 5, 2005, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born in Manila, she was the daughter of the late Joel Edward and Lula Sherrod Stewart. She was a lifelong Manila resident, a retired employee of Brown Shoe Company and was a member of the Church of God of Prophesy in Manila.

She is survived by two brothers, Mitchell Stewart of Bakersfield, Calif., and Ray E. Stewart of Ft. Smith; a special brother, Bill Oldham, of Van Buren; a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, S.K. Stewart, Carl Stewart, Herbert Stewart and Graville Stewart.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Howard Funeral Chapel in Manila with Rev. Jesse Whittington officiating. Burial was in the Manila Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were nephews, Darrell Jones, Lee Waldrop, Steven Phillips, Aaron Jones, Christopher Stewart, Sean Stewart, Reed Snider, Brooks Snider, Barry Scott, Steve Malloy and Ross Malloy.

Honorary pallbearers were Jeremy Murray, Jason Murray and Heath Murray.
