Coy Mac Boyd Sr., 63, of Jonesboro died Thursday, June 23, 2005, at New Roads, La. Born at Leachville, he lived in Jonesboro the past 30 years. A pioneer in dental implants in Arkansas, he was a dentist and taught as an assistant professor at the University of Tennessee. He was a previous member of the Arkansas Plant Board Commission and a member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa Boyd of the home; two sons, Coy Mac Boyd Jr. of Boston and Cameron Boyd of the home; a daughter, Carye Boyd Riley of Atlanta; his parents, Coy and Lavon Boyd of Manila; two brothers, Johnny Boyd of Manila and Charles Boyd of Horn Lake, Miss.; and a sister, Debbye Boyd of Little Rock.

A memorial service was held at 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of Jonesboro with Dr. Bruce Tippit officiating. Burial was private under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home.
