Vela M. Rodgers - Manila

Vela M. Rodgers, 87, of Manila died Saturday, June 18, 2005, at Manila Nursing Center.

Born in Mississippi County, she was a lifelong Manila resident, a retired nurses aide and of the Pentecostal belief.

Survivors include five sons, Kenneth Hatley of Comanche, Texas, Gerald Hatley of Pascagoula, Miss., Carroll Ray Galloway of Leachville, Jerry Galloway of Hamilton, Texas, and Eddy Galloway of Manila, and a brother, Olzo Green of Manila; 23 grandhcildren and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Allie Dean Green, and two sons, Jimmy Galloway and Bobby Evans.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. today (Tuesday) at Howard Funeral Service of Manila with Rev. Grady Goff officiating. Burial will follow in Manila Cemetery.

Pa..bearers are Gary Galloway, Jeff Galloway, Ricky Galloway, Larry Galloway, Terry Green and Jimmy Shrader.
