Howard Selby - Leachville

Howard Selby, 92, of Leachville died Tuesday, May 31, 2005, at the Monette Manor Nursing Center.

Born at Bucoda, Mo., he had been a longtime Leachville resident. He was a 1930 graduate of Leachville High school and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a self-employed contractor and builder and attended the First United Methodist Church of Leachville.

Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Brown of Natchitoches, La.; two brothers, Bud Selby and Floyd Selby Jr., both of Leachville; a sister, Marjorie Cole of Leachville; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Blythe Selby; his second wife, Ruth Lee Selby; two sons, Ronald Blythe Selby and Joe Stephen Selby; his parents, Floyd and Nora Hedrick Selby; two brothers and two sisters.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Donnie Hudson officiating. Burial was in the Leachville Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Mike Williams, Allen Williams, Blythe Selby, Trey Selby, Toby Selby and Willie Brown.
