Tony G. Tucker - Ash Flat

Tony G. Tucker, 80, of Ash Flat died Thursday, March 31, 2005, at his residence.

Born in Dell, he was a Navy veteran of World War II and a business owner in Blytheville and Jonesboro. He moved from Jonesboro to Sharp County in 1970, owned stores in downtown Hardy and worked as a plumber for several years. He attended Ash Flat Church of Christ.

Survivors include a daughter, Sonia Greene of Ash Flat; a son, Donald Tucker of Hamilton, Miss.; two brothers, Joe Bill Tucker of Manila and Melvin Tucker of Tipton, Mich.; two sisters, Opal Howell and Mildred Ann Polman, both of Elkhart, Ind.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Maxine Tucker, his second wife, Rachel Tucker; his parents, Tony Tucker and Emily Grace Hoover Tucker; a brother, and a sister.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Monday at Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel in Highland with Keith Gregson officiating. Burial was at 2 p.m. in East Ridgewood Cemetery at Mountain View.
