Edgar Leo "Hoppy" Stanfill - Manila

Edgar Leon "Hoppy" Stanfill, 66 of Manila, died Thursday, March 3, 2005, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born at Manila, he was the son of the late Eugene and Ruby Mason Stanfill and was a lifelong area resident. He was a former police officer having served the cities of Manila, Leachville and Caraway. He also served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He is survived by a son, Edgar "Little Hop" Stanfill, Jr., of Manila; five daughters, Kathy Wycoff of Caraway, Connie Rolland of Monette, LaDonna Ann Statler of Agnes, Lee Ann Jones and Judy Ann Smith, both of Paragould; two brothers, Johnny Howard Stanfill and Danny Ray Stanfill, both of Manila; three sisters, Trula Jean Ball of Camp, Pamela Bagley and Donna Hallmark, both of Paragould, and nine grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jasmine Stanfill.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Monday at Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with burial in the Manila Cemetery.
