James Darrell "JD" Flowers - Evening Shade

James Darrell "J.D." Flowers, 68, of Evening Shade, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005, at Batesville. Born at Grubbs, he lived in Jonesboro, Monette and Springfield, Mo., before moving to Evening Shade eight years ago. He was a retired truck driver, Army veteran of the Korean War and of the Baptist belief.

Survivors include four daughters, Trish Hale and Tina Chaney, both of Paragould, Kathy Johns of Evening Shade and Donna Milde of Jonesboro; three sons, Darrell Flowers of Jonesboro, Jason Flowers stationed in Washington state with the U.S. Navy and Justin Flowers of Cedar Creek, Mo.; three sisters, Ludean Patterson and Paulette Wessell, both of Jonesboro, and Ruth Ann Morris of Walnut Ridge; two brothers, Wayne "Danny" Ball of Jonesboro and Dennis Ball of Lake City; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Emerson Funeral Home's Memorial Chapel of Jonesboro with Rev. Earl Watson officiating. Burial was in Macey Cemetery near Monette.

Active pallbearers were Chris Farr, Daniel Milde, Paul Bass, Bryan Richmond, George Chaney and Drew Johns.

Honorary pallbearers were Gabriel Moya and Santiago Vasquez.
