Roger Henry Visscher - Holland

Roger Henry Visscher, age 78, of Holland, died Friday, February 04, 2005, at Holland Community Hospital.

Roger was born in Holland, July 17, 1926, and has been a lifelong resident of Holland.

He was a baptized member of Fourth Reformed Church and has attended there his entire life. Roger was a veteran of the US Navy, serving during World War II. Along with his membership at Fourth Reformed Church, he was also a member of the VFW Post 2144, the American Legion, and the Elks Lodge. Roger worked for Nelson Metal in Grandville for many years before retiring.

He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Calvin Koning, sister-in-law, Clare Visscher, and a brother-in-law, Freddie Veach.

Surviving are his wife of 18 years, June Visscher, of Holland; Children, Susan Koning, of Holland, and Debra and Scott Behrmann, of Holland; 3 Grandchildren, Ben Koning, Katie Koning, and Michelle Behrmann; Sisters and brothers, Katheryn Van Dis, of Holland; Jane and Ralph Barkman, of Holland, and Gary Visscher, of Laketown Township, In-laws, Clifford and Norma Veach, and Janice Veach, of Manila, Ark. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, February 9, 2005, 11:00AM, at the Mulder Chapel, Dykstra Funeral Homes, 188 W. 32nd St. Officiating will be the Rev. Reggie Padin.

Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.

Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, from 7-9PM, at the funeral home.
