Dr. John Logan Emlet - Manila

Dr. John Logan Emlet, 64, of Manila died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005, at his residence. Born in Wilmington, Del., he was a Navy veteran and received undergraduate and master's degree from Duke University. He retired in 1997 from general surgery, having practiced in Pensacola, Fla.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah Halfacre Emlet of Manila; a son, James Logan Emlet of Falls Church, Vir.; a daughter, Amanda Emlet Bills of Pensacola; two stepsons, Bryan Craine of Manila and Dr. Corey Craine of Jonesboro; a sister, Susan Emlet Crandall of San Jose, Calif.; and five grandchildren, Spencer Bills and Avery Bills, both of Pensacola, and Brittany Craine, Courtney Criane and Christopher Craine, all of Manila.

All services will be private and under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
